We as a people do not need foreign governments ruling us. We must look out for ourselves... "TO ISOLATE"!! The idea is a separate party to "ISOLATE", To live within "OUR"borders and not be "RULED" by others. To have our own MARSHALL PLAN to help our own first. The isolationist perspective dates back to Colonial America. Isolationism allows a nation to devote all its resources and efforts to its own advancement by remaining at peace and avoiding binding responsibilities to other nations. President George Washington memorably spelled out the intent of American isolationism in his Farewell Address: “The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. Europe has a set of primary interests, which to us have none, or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves, by artificial ties, in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities.” American isolationism does not mean disengagement from the world stage. The United States should be a world player and even further its territorial, ideological and economic interests, especially in the Western Hemisphere. |
